From Anne: I received the following letter from Dennis Blocker, the author of “Dogs of 2 Wars”

    Hello Anne,

As I mentioned to you on the phone, we here at "Dogs Of 2 Wars" would like to donate to your K9 Hero Haven Rescue Organization $1.00 from every book we sell of the book my son and I wrote titled, "The Dogs I've Known In 2 Wars." Which as you know, the book was written to bring Honor and Glory to those CWD I worked with in Iraq and in the remote mountains of Afghanistan.

I was responsible for the supervision and training for 38 of these CWDs between these two war-torn countries. They were awesome War Dogs! My book tells of their individual bravery, fear, and fun times while in War.

I've trained many Police and War Dogs over the years and am thrilled to know we can donate funds to help you with your needs for them, in giving them great and happy lives.

We will send you a check once a month, the funds will vary, it depends on how well sales are going of the book, it varies from day-to-day.

    Dennis Blocker

Author & Founder of "Dogs Of 2 Wars"

From our Fundraising Guru, Stacey Hurley Meachum:

UPDATE: The chocolate soap bars have sold out! We still have Body Butter and Balms left!!

I have found Eden Valley Farm Co and the owner Jaime Desenberg is amazing! She has graciously partnered with K-9 Hero Haven to do a fundraiser. We are selling a limited number of handmade in small batches of body butter and whipped body balm. The body butter will be available in 8oz jars and the scents will be Sugared Vanilla and Beach House. The whipped body balm scents will be Rio (my favorite) and Sugared Strawberry. These are 7oz. All will be $15.00 plus shipping, if you are not local. These are perfect for Valentine's Day, teacher gifts and to pamper yourself. They will ship at the end of the month.
Body Butter is made of shea and cocoa butter, coconut, sweet almond and avocado oils, and arrowroot.
Whipped Body Balm is made with kokum, mango and shea butter and aloe vera, carrot and coconut oils.
Our fundraising is limited in the cold months, and you will not be disappointed if you support us with these products.

We are excited to be working with TWC Construction, Livic Civil Engineering, and Jeff Georg with ASCOM Electric for our new kennel building that will be built on our property here. We will share updates and new plans as this project develops.

The new home will have 24 climate controlled, in and out kennel runs, an elevated dog bath, a food storage room and many more extras.

We are a nonprofit rescue that does not euthanize non-adoptable dogs. We have taken in many police K9s that were at risk for being euthanized due to different levels of aggression. We want to be able to provide retired working dogs that have limited opportunities, a place to retire, in addition to continuing our mission of adopting dogs that can be placed into retirement homes.  We are at a point where we need to expand and build a newer, bigger, and better set-up for them. I want the retired working dogs that can't live in a home, to have the closest thing to a home that they can. These dogs can be more difficult to handle, and not adopted easily, but they have worked their entire lives protecting us and doing what they are trained to do.  I have never had to say "No" to a retired K9 needing help. We want to continue to help them have the retirement they so much deserve.  We currently have 54 dogs in our care. We have adopted 297 retired working dogs into retirement homes since we started our rescue in 2015.

To donate: you can click on the "Donate" button on this page, visit the "Sponsorship" tab at the top and choose one of the 3 levels of sponsorship, or you can send a check to the address listed at the bottom of the page.

"We greatly appreciate your love, help, and support. From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you. We couldn’t do what we do without you!!" - Anne
